True Mother's Hoon Dok Message on October 1st, 2013

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Yesterday, we received video messages, in Korean and also with Japanese subtitles, from True Mother’s October 1st Hoon Dok Hae service in Korea. At this point, we do not have an English version, but we do have some brief and inspiring notes taken from the occasion which are attached.
Since many of our families do have Korean or Japanese-speaking members, I am sending out the links to these videos, together with the brief notes of True Mother’s speech, below. As you can see, she is reminding the world of the “Pilgrim Spirit” that was at the founding of this nation. 40 years ago, at Carnegie Hall and on the 21-city tour, our True Father appealed for a return to these same values.

Hoon Dok Hae at the Cheong Jeong Gung on HC 8.27 (Oct. 1, 2013)

Approximately 200 members from the Seoul area participated at the Hoon Dok Hwe on Oct. 1, 2013. True Mother asked Rev. Yook Hyeon Joo, who is the Gang Nam regional leader, to share his testimony on their recent witnessing activities.
In his testimony, he said "We became united in heart, senior members led the activities, and all were aligned with Vision 2020. Since we ran a well-organized witnessing project holding two services, one bigger, one smaller, I think we could become a model region in activities."
After this testimony, True Mother gave encouraging words to the participants: "The Puritans crossed the ocean to go to the new continent looking for religious freedom. The first thing they did after they stepped on the new land was to build the church where they could attend Heaven, and the school where they could educate later generations. After that, they built their own houses."
Then True Mother urged to congregation to reserve the seeds for the sake of later generations, as the Puritans did. [She alluded to the fact that the first settlers deliberately avoided eating their "seed corn" in the winter of 1620, even though they were starving, so that seeds could be planted in the spring of 1621.]
She also said, "The United States, being united with True Parents after having listened to the truth was supposed to be in the role of mediator. But the U.S. became sick, and so from 1986, True Parents educated, at Belvedere and East Garden, young people from all over the world. Later, Father gave those young members, whom he wanted to lead the United States, the title of 'Top Gun.' In those days, those members were an elite contingent, and now they are over 60, 70, even 80 years old. But it is regrettable that the foundation of the younger 2nd gen, who will succeed them is still weak. When we think of the Vision 2020, it is time for us to speed up in the providence. That's why I am now training 2nd gen ‘Top Guns." She asked both 1st and 2nd gens to inherit the vision and tradition that True Father gave and to become Top Guns who can realize the Vision 2020.
She went on to say, "Our daily life should be something we can be proud of in front of Heaven. Your Hoon Dok Hae on a daily basis needs to be followed by a life of 'sharing.' There shouldn't be any neighbors around you who don't know True Parents. You, yourself, must be determined with your family to realize God's will in your generation and start everyday with such commitment." Let us all stay close to True Parents in spirit and seek to put their words into action!
